The Walhampton Triathlon

Saturday 19^th September saw 215 children swim, cycle and run their way around the Walhampton grounds. Children from both Walhampton and local schools took part in this community event, our third Walhampton Triathlon, which has grown year on year. There were plenty of spectators to cheer them on too.

The event offeed an individual triathlon option for children in Years 5-8, allowing them the opportunity for timed transitions, with an 8 length swim, 2km cycle and 1.4km run. Non stop action  and plenty of fast paced transitions! Then, the popular team triathlon followed with a range of distances as children aged 6 to 13 completed their relays, with each team member doing a swim, bike and run.

The triathlon was a fundraising event for the Walhampton School Foundation Trust and we extend a huge thank you to all of the participants for taking part and helping to raise valuable funds. Thank you also to Savills, Lymington who sponsored the 2026 triathlon.

The individual triathlon winning boy was Stanley from Priestlands School and the winning girl was Demelza from Walhampton. The junior winning boy was Toby from Walhampton and Florence from Durlston. Richard Harrison-Poole, Assistant Head Co-Curricular, said “The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was brilliant to see all of the children challenging themselves, supporting one another and showing such great determination and resilience. Days like today are a real reflection of the community we have here at Walhampton."
