Saturday 20th September saw over 200 children swim, cycle and run their way around the Walhampton grounds. Children from both Walhampton and local schools took part in this community event, our second ever Walhampton Triathlon.

New this year, the event offered an individual triathlon option for children in Years 5-8, allowing them the opportunity for timed transitions, with an 8 length swim, 2km cycle and 1.4km run. Then, the popular team triathlon followed with a range of distances as children aged 6 to 13 completed their relays, with each team member doing a swim, bike and run.

The triathlon was fundraising for the Walhampton School Foundation Trust. The individual triathlon winning boy was Freddie from Priestlands and the winning girl was Scarlett from Walhampton. The junior winning boy was Stanley from Brockenhurst Primary and Leonora from Walhampton. Richard Harrison-Poole, Director of Sport, said “Our second triathlon was another fantastic community day. Watching the children complete the challenge with such energy, smiles and with support for each other is just brilliant. Well done to all competitors and look out for our 2026 Triathlon!”
