Walhampton School is delighted to announce a new partnership with AFC Bournemouth Football Club and its Community Sports Trust, bringing professional football coaching, expertise and inspiration to pupils across the school. The unique partnership will see professional AFC Bournemouth coaches working alongside the Walhampton sports team delivering high-quality football training and coaching to both boys and girls. Coaches will also support Walhampton football tournaments, home matches and spring term football co-curricular activities. Off the pitches, the Bournemouth team will support Walhampton by offering a range of themed workshops to both pupils and parents.
Working with a dedicated and experienced team will allow relationships to develop over time, helping coaches understand individual pupils, their strengths and areas for development, while providing continuity in the quality and approach to coaching.
This partnership will support every child to develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game, while providing additional challenge and specialist preparation for those pupils with particular aptitude and ambition in football. Football is growing rapidly across both the prep and senior independent school sector, with increasing opportunities for pupils to progress towards senior school sport scholarships, developing both their passion and talent. Pupils will have the opportunity to learn from expert coaches, develop their potential and be inspired to think wild.
The partnership reflects a strong alignment between the values of AFC Bournemouth and Walhampton.
