Eco House Model Boat Challenge

Congratulations to all our children for their brilliant entries into our Eco House Model Boat Challenge. Designed over half term, using House coloured sails, we received nearly 60 entries which were launched on the lake on Thursday afternoon.

There was great excitement as the boats were lined up and the race started by Mrs Williams. It was also fantastic to see lots of innovative designs using recycled materials competing across all year groups. The afternoon’s events started with the Middles and Seniors race - it was an exciting race with lots of great models sailing well across the lake, but the top 5 finishers were: Toby (6H) – 1st, Flynn (6S) – 2nd, Thomas (6H), 3rd, Ethan ( 5LH) – 4th, Zach (6P) – 5th.

The Juniors were next up and as the wind picked up the finish was close with many of the designs competing for victory! The first 5 over the line were: Lucas (4AW) – 1st, Willow (3JM) – 2nd, Tibbs (4ML) – 3rd, JJ (3JW) – 4th, Margot (4GB)– 5th. Wilberforce is the overall winning House.

Sailing lead, Mrs Williams, enthused: "There was so much camaraderie among the children and such a great atmosphere with a wonderful team spirit to the event as everyone cheered each other on. It was also an excellent display of PSB skills such as collaboration on the day and independence in developing the designs - all essential skills for sailing too."

Our other category winners have been announced as:

Head's Award - Margot (4GB)

Eco Award - Miri (6H)

Design Award - Toby (5CL)

Well done to all who took part and we look forward to seeing which models make it to the Setley race over the Christmas holidays!
