During the Easter holidays, 29 member of our Chapel Choir and four staff set off for a 3 night adventure in Paris. After an early start from Walhampton and a sunny ferry crossing the group arrived safely to Paris, using the coach journey or a little extra singing practice! The Chapel Choir performed two concerts, the first at Église de la Madeleine, a huge church in central Paris, followed by the opportunity to perform on stage at Disneyland Paris. 

In the Église de la Madeleine, one of the songs performed was  Fauré's In Paradisum, which was originally premiered at this venue in 1888 when Fauré was choirmaster. With two completely different sets of repertoire, all learnt off by heart, the children performed magnificently to the two audiences. 

Whilst in Paris there was also the opportunity to visit the Eiffel Tower, take a boat cruise and time to experience the magic of Disneyland. The trip provided a truly unique adventure for the Chapel Choir and a huge thank you to Mr Burton, Director of Music for organising and accompanying the children.
