A beautiful Winter’s Evening it was on the 31st January as the Walhampton Chapel Choir came together to perform alongside the Canford School Chamber Choir and their Chamber Strings. Over 100 guests enjoyed drinks and dinner in a banqueting style in the Walhampton Chapel, before exceptional performances from each ensemble. The two choirs came together for a joint finale of Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir. As Canford Director of Music, Will Ings, shared to the audience, this is a remarkably challenging piece and not one that is normally embarked upon by a school choir. However, the children performed admirably and it will no doubt be an evening they remember forever.

A huge thank you to Walhampton Director of Music, Chris Burton for masterminding the concert alongside Will Ings and for supporting our young musicians on this journey. Proceeds from the concert were donated to the Walhampton School Foundation Trust.
