CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Childhood is a time to discover new interests and pursue what you love. Our 100 acre estate and facilities enable us to offer a huge range of activities and experiences helping ensure that each child finds their passion.

OUR MODEL
Timetabled co-curricular lessons take place in the Prep School at 16.10 for 50 minutes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (or Mondays and Thursdays for Years 3 and 4). These form part of our core co-curricular programme and are compulsory for children in Years 4 to 8. Our co-curricular model delivers a dynamic mix of clubs across three pillars:
- Performing & Creative Arts,
- Sport & Outdoor Adventure
- Innovation & Discovery
Children choose an activity for each pillar and these change on a termly basis and with the seasons to ensure variety.
Our Autumn 2025 Co-Curricular brochure can be viewed here.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
In addition to the timetabled afternoon lesson, our programme offers before school, lunchtime and after school co-curricular activities which remain aligned to the three pillars. These activities are optional unless you are committed to Chapel Choir, Orchestra or a particular scholarship session. Our after school activities take place from 17.00 to 17.45 and provide an opportunity to enjoy, develop and improve new skills. The activities at 17.00 typically have an additional charge but a teacher led homework club is also available during this time. The brochure above links to our current programme but regular and popular activities include comedy club, karate, sailing, running club, chess and gymnastics. Do visit our Sailing and Riding pages to learn more about the Walhampton offering out on the water and at our riding school.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES FOR BOARDING CHILDREN
Whilst we don't have Saturday school, there are optional activities held for Prep School children on a few Saturday mornings throughout each term. These may include art workshops or sports academy practices. There are also opportunities to flexi-board over the weekend, joining our boarders in their weekend activities.
Walhampton boarders can enjoy a wide variety of activities, visits and events during their weekends. Activities include outings to the cinema, theatre and bowling, as well as beach trips, swimming in the school pool, Sunday morning cricket on the lawn, forest adventures, BBQs and campfire suppers. Our exeat weekends are not compulsory and boarders are offered the chance to stay at school for a cultural weekend programme if they are unable to return home. These weekends follow a different routine and are designed to develop independence with unique trips and experiences.

Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger.
