The Role
Gap Student positions are varied and rewarding, offering school leavers excellent opportunities to contribute across different areas of the School, including the boarding environment. While most roles last for a full academic year, shorter-term positions are available for those seeking experience for just a term.
Gap Students play an important role in supporting Boarding staff. Their responsibilities include managing wake-ups and bedtimes, overseeing meal time registrations, administering medication, organising evening activities, and providing general pastoral care. The role demands hard work, dedication, and adaptability. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic, with a genuine interest in working with children. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or working with young people.
Becoming a Gap Student is a great way to gain paid work experience before starting university or employment. Many Gap Students go on to pursue careers in teaching or childcare.
