COVID-19 - reopening boarding in September

We are looking forward to reopening Bradfield House to boarders in the Autumn Term, in line with government guidance.  Our boarding family lies at the very heart of Walhampton life and we are excited to get up-and-running again. Our absolute priority is the safety and wellbeing of our children.

Walhampton has committed to the Boarding Schools’ Association “COVID-safe charter”. This is an extensive checklist for us to ensure that throughout our boarding provision we are doing everything to the highest possible standards to keep our community safe.  Full details of the charter can be found here.

Boarding at Walhampton is firmly rooted in a family approach, with day children completely integrated with our prep school full-time, weekly and flexi-boarders - all of whom thrive within our ‘home from home’ environment.

We work hard to provide a caring atmosphere that makes settling in to boarding a gentle process. We’re excited to welcome your children to their new home away from home at Walhampton boarding school in Hampshire. Our comfortable and spacious shared bedrooms offer stunning sights across the region with views of the Solent and the New Forest.

Our boarding house is called Bradfield House, named after the founder of Walhampton, John Bradfield. His ethos of teaching and caring for the individual runs deep at the school and firmly extends to life in the boarding house.

We hope that your child’s stay at our boarding school, however long or short, will be enjoyable and memorable. Walhampton prides itself on creating a family atmosphere where the children feel happy and cherished.

Bradfield House has over 60 boarders of children from Year 3 through to Year 8. We have children who board from local areas within Hampshire and Sussex, children who board nationally from across the United Kingdom and children from a range of international backgrounds.

During your child’s stay in the boarding house there is ample opportunity to socialise with friends, engage in sporting activities, practice their musical instrument skills, consolidate schoolwork in a supervised prep and enjoy the homely atmosphere.

We very much look forward to welcoming your child to the boarding house.

Best Wishes, Rebecca and Tristan Moore
