Walhampton celebrates a fantastic Founders' Day with Sir Ben Ainslie CBE

Walhampton School celebrate with olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie CBE

We were delighted to welcome Sir Ben Ainslie CBE to Walhampton’s Founders’ Day. Sir Ben presented the awards to our prize winners and gave us a unique insight into the life of an outstanding Olympic champion.

Sir Ben Ainslie is the most successful sailor in Olympic history, winning medals at five consecutive Olympics from 1996-2012, including gold at the last four.

Founders' Day is one of the highlights of the Walhampton school calendar. It is a wonderful opportunity for the whole school community to come together to celebrate and reflect the achievements and successes of the academic year.

This year, children, parents and staff were treated to beautiful recitals by our Pre-Prep and Prep school choirs, captivating performances from our talented LAMDA candidates and enjoyed a few toe tapping numbers from this year's senior production, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Rapturous applause and tears of pride greeted all our Year 8 leavers. The whole school swelled with pride as we said goodbye and wished them well as they leave to go to Radley, Ballard, King’s Taunton, Clayesmore,  Winchester College, Canford, The Gregg, Sherborne, Monkton Coombe, King Edward VI, Marlborough College, Hampshire Collegiate, Bryanston, Sherborne Girls, King’s Bruton.
