Walhampton’s Prep School rugby seven’s season off to a terrific start

Walhampton’s Prep School rugby seven’s season got off to a terrific start with the 1st VII winning the Boundary Oak Rugby Seven’s tournament for the second year running.

The 1st VII were dominant throughout the tournament. They cruised through the group stage winning all their matches and then were emphatic in both the semi final and in the final beating Ryde by 12-0. Not only did the boys not lose all afternoon, they also did not concede a try, which, in Seven’s rugby is magnificent and a real achievement.

While all the boys played their part in the matches, the stand out player was Aaron Jefferies who scored 14 tries throughout the afternoon. This result is a huge boost to the boys who travel to Clayesmore for their tournament in March.

The boys are focused to build on each match as they head towards the finale at the end of the season when we take on schools from all over the country at the Rosslyn Park tournament at the end of March.
