Last Words - The Battle for Arnhem Bridge
Last week, the Little Theatre cinema in Bath was packed to capacity for the premiere screening of Titus Mills and Roger Chapman's feature film 'Last Words'. The film tells the story of the famous battle fought at Arnhem, in Holland, towards the end of the second world War. The story is told through compelling and moving interviews with the last surviving veterans who fought at Arnhem over seventy years ago.
Titus Mills has a passionate interest in these veterans. In this film he goes on a journey to record their stories for future generations and leads a group of children from Walhampton School to Arnhem for the 70th anniversary to meet the surviving soldiers.
Just as the film brings the different generations together, so the audience at the premiere was full of young and old alike. Six Arnhem veterans, all in their nineties and all wearing berets and medals, attended with their families alongside them. The screening was followed by a Question and Answer session in which the producers spoke about the making of the film, with poignant reflections from the veterans themselves.
