Welcoming back our boarding family

By Rebecca Moore, Head of Boarding

This week we have welcomed some of our international boarders back to school for quarantining before term starts. It is wonderful to have them back in the boarding house, filling the house with fun, laughter and stories, despite it being under such strange circumstances. We have lots planned to keep us entertained at school for the next two weeks.

Our boarding family lies at the very heart of Walhampton life and we are excited to be getting up-and-running again. Our absolute priority is the safety and wellbeing of our children but we will ensure that our family ethos continues.

We are committed to the Boarding Schools’ Association “COVID-safe charter”. This is an extensive checklist for us to ensure that throughout our boarding provision we are doing everything to the highest possible standards to keep our community safe and well. Full details of the charter can be found here.

As with everything at the moment, we need to adjust to a “new normal” and some things feel a little different, but many things have stayed the same. The boarding house is the same, the Houseparent team is the same, the love is the same.

We can’t wait to welcome back the other full and weekly boarders in September.
